No Monti I have ever seen before! It looks more like someone tried to scrape off a blue ridge coral lol.

When I first got it , it was smooth and "Wet" looking (but in a cool healthy way).

About a week ago out came the polyps :)

Looks like a piece of GSP to me.  I've got plenty that look like, usually from the bottom of a rock, its nice an smooth then the evil little polyps start to grow, then the purple darkens up.  Then you know you made the mistake of introducing GSP to an other wise clean tank.

Smooth and "Shiny"? That kind of wet would be a blue ridge coral :) Its a very fast growing SPS, that is brown on the outside. The only hint of blue is one the inside, and sometimes on the tips.

It could pass as a very light brown .. Looks more of a pale orange under my lights

After looking around, I agree that it is a Blue ridge coral

Thanks! I would guess it is of the "Eric Hall" linage. His is huge. They are a very cool coral, that will quickly take over your 29G tank. I have to Kalk paste bits and pieces of mine here and there.
