I thought that this might be an interesting topic to see how everyone came up with their usernames. If you would like to share post up where or how you came up with the name you use.
Mine is jjoos99 Nothing too fancy, My first name is Jeff and last name Joos, the 99 came from the year that I got my first computer and made my email address. Of course back then it was slow dial up and of course @aol :be happy:

Muttley was the nickname the guy I bought my 1960 hardtail HD chopper from when I was 19 years old (nearly 30 years ago) The 000 was because the first forum I joined required a number in the username lol

Don't feel to bad. I never had the energy to repeat my full name to people after telling them so it got shortened to Fleck. Thus I became a "Guy Named Fleck" online. ;D

I was introduced to the crankbait in 2009, which is where my username came from. Live and die by the crank :)

Awesome! Made me smile too!
My mama gave it to me.

I kid you not, Jeff. The 99 in my username came from the first time I started using the internet and email too....We are aging ourselves. And the "aquavista" portion of my username came, in part, from a quote in the movie "White Men Can't Jump" (released in 1992). The quote is from a woman who lived in the projects .... " All I care about is getting out of the Vista View apartments, because there ain't no 'vista', there ain't no "view", and there certainly ain't no vista of no view." I added "aqua" to the "vista" because I have always been a fish nut.... back in the 1990s I was was raising and breeding freshwater discus fish and angelfish. Aquavista99 goes back to 1999 and the rest is history.
As Jimmy Buffet would say, "I may be getting older but not growing up!"

This thread has been fun, let's keep them coming.
Tim, I do feel like an old man in the hobby when I go to the swaps and see the average age. Maybe that would make a good survey questions and thread figuring the average age of everyone.?
-
Mine like many was a random thought when I created a username for internet access back in 1995. It just stuck.

Been using merlin on dozens of forums and everything from hotmail to old aol instant messenger. Im a pilot and have been in love with aviation and anything that flys since i was a kid so i took merlin from top gun because maverick was too obvious.

I will try and keep this short, LoL. I have been around using "Nicknames" most of my life in some form or other. I grew up as a military kid and then myself I entered the US Army at 18 and served for 8.5years. So being around military and sports you end up having or using a lot of nicknames.
The most interesting nickname given to me came from my squad leader in the Army, I was notorious for being in really good shape and with that I would eat like 7 times a day. So he started calling me "Joe Willy Lunch Meat" do to the fact of eating so much. That was too long so most in the platoon just called me "joe willy" for short.
The A_game came from our manufacturing site in Canada. In my job I had to travel to Canada for 9mos and deliver a project to this site. In my role problem solving and troubleshooting are the money game, bring it and bring it big. With any new line start up you have a fair share of problems so the teams up there started saying dang Rick always brings his A-game to work with him, so it stuck. The # 43 is my High School football number as well so put the two together and you get A-game43.
Enjoy the weekend!
