09 Buell 1125cr - 2300 miles
« on: September 17, 2011, 16:16:10 »
I need to sell my Buell which only has 2300 ish miles on the bike, purchased fall of 09.  Bike is in excellent condition, needs nothing!!  1st service done at F&S Harley & changed to Royal Purple oil.  Bike is also completely stock except for two things, I added the clubman handlebars which are a inch or so higher then OEM as well as 360 degree foot pegs to give a little more leg room, pic is with OEM bars/pegs.

Reason for selling is lack of use, only put 2300 miles on the bike in about 2 years of use, sold my HArley a few months back due to lack of use. Married last summer & she has 3 kids playing select soccer, I can't take them on the bike thus it needs to go.  Open to offers.... asking $6,500

LOL, agreed I could take her out for a spin, let her stretch her legs ;)

I say get rid of the kids instead... I gave up my bikes when my daughter was born... and I hate every sunny day now... life isn't the same in the fall either. Don't doo it man :)

LOL.... so sad.... hit 100 mph on it once......

My wife is a motorcycle fan... she hates cars.  I like both but can't afford both.  So my idea is if I sell the Buell I can buy a Lotus...... which does have a passenger seat so I can take 1 kid with me, when they are old enough to sit there....

& yea, I know I will regret it thus it won't bother me to much if it doesn't sell.

Well true. My dad traded hi 01 road glide in on a 2011 road glide with a 6speed tranny, he said with his new bike 65-70 feels like 50 on his old bike.

yea, HUGE improvements over the years with the HD's, I went from a 98, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009 & each time a BIG improvement.  The last two years with the 6spd & extra power was nice, the new frame was a LOT better, just felt more solid when the road was less then perfectly smooth & handled a lot better as well.

We use to trade them in at F&S for $43.00..... can't get that deal any more so I sold the bike.  I miss the radio/CD plater/sat, windscreen & cruise.  But don't miss the 950 lbs, lack of power & also the lack of power :)  Did I mention it was slow

It really just depends on the engine... a big bore kit will get some of them screaming for a cruiser.... but in the end your still throwing around a 1200+lb bike with rider and gear... 100 is nothing on that thing... LOL My first bike was a 05 boulevard C50, I had it topped out on the ride home(125) and that was kinda scarey, it didn't want to stay glued to the road after 80. rofl...

I worked at F&S for 2 years. If you had your bike serviced there, there is a good chance we've meet before and I have rode your bike(s) a few times ;)

yea, you probably did or one of the several just like mine.  One of the Shriner bikes, a dozen + of them we would order every year or so, hate to see they were sold out but I never understood how they could spend $3.5 mill on that location.

One of the guys in our unit had the full screaming eagle stuff on his 08 Ultra.  It accelerated the same as my 09 bone stock.  He didn't go with a new big bore engine, just a few grand in exh, chip & whatever else was involved.  It's going to be interesting how the lawsuit will end against HD.  Seems like as the years go by & they develop more power, they have become a lot hotter.... insterested to see what the result it & how far the suit goes

This would look great sitting next to my '10 XB12Scg. Do you still have the original bar/pegs?
