I wonder how accurate those numbers are for total weight. Looks like they used 10 lbs a gallon which is more then what water weighs plus they didn't calculate actual water volume. I have always guess 10lbs a gallon including tank weight & all that stuff...... just a guess
Is the Tempered true to all makers?
I can change it Viggen, how would you recommend? Should it be Gallons x 8.35 x tank weight?
Aside from sand I am guessing the water displacement from rock, equipment and coral actually reduces the weight. However the stand, canopy and equipment outside of tank such as ballast increases it. I guess all we can do is provide true weight full of just water with no obstructions and figure the rest is a wash or not significant enough to make a diffrence one way or the other. What do you think?
good to see the notation..... I would think it depends on the type of rocks for adding or subtracting weight to the tank. Lava rock or other light rocks would decrease weigh. But I would think tufa (sp) & heavy/dense rocks would add weight.
there will always be differance in weight in every ones tank
This number could be greatly more, depending on how much more rock I want to add.I would also recommend counting in the weight of your tank stand
yeah, now imagine how heavy my 300g tank weighs, about 3,000lbs +&- some weight for rock and sand........
