Kind of bitter sweet since none of them will make it past the hatching stage. Still kind of cool none the less.

That would be awesome!!! What do we need to do? It may be too late for this clutch, but they spawn about every 11 days or so.

I've watched them hatch before and they just flow all over the tank. I've not actually seen anything eat them, but I never see any babies either. I'm sure I don't have the proper food for them to survive in the tank either.

Darn!!! I just checked on them and missed the hatching! I saw a few floating around but looks like they ended up in the rocl work. One of my mrittle stars was out in a big way, I don't know if that was a snack for him or not.

I've heard that as well, hence I've never seriously looked into doing it.

I have some smaller tanks if you really want to try... I think the biggest thing is just gonna be keeping them fed. I also have a ton of those fragging/storage bins I bought from scott, I am sure we can rig up something to produce food for em... I'll look into it.

i have a spare 10g tank i was going to use to breed some clowns till mine died. You have to get some plankton and some rotifers. Basically after they hatch, which should be around night time, you shine a light int here, the babies are attracted to it. Get a bowl and a turkey baster, suck them up and put them in a bown of tank water. Then put some plankton in there and they will eat that. Then i think its the next day you have to feed them rotifers, maybe the 2nd day. And you have to feed them often, thats the bummer part. And do a water change, which you should be able to cycle it with your tank water. I used to culture plankton, but when i did my tank change, i had to stop doing that as everything got torn apart. But once i get that back up and running we could give it a shot

I'm up for trying this. When I read the directions, it says you can also place the rock in the fry tank for them to hatch. I could easily do that, but the anemone is attached to that rock. Would the anemone eat them or would it be the same as the big clowns and not be bothered by it? I know when they hatch the go fast so it would only have to be in there for a few minutes.

well looks like i'll be up all night. didnt realize the time. There is no way that i can sleep only 4 hrs and wake up for work... But anyways. There are 3 types of plankton that needs to be grown. Iso G, Nano O, and Tetra. Tetra has what Nano lacks in and nano has what Tetra lacks in. Iso G has antibiotic compounds which helps with the health of the babies. Then as you feed that to the food (rotifiers) its somewhat passed to the babies. Healthier the food, the healthier the specimen. I had trouble growing the ISO G but i think it was due to contamination which is HIGHLY important not to cross contaminate. Believe it or not, even algae "fight" one another.
