Good luck to all participants. I'm anxious to see the different growth rates everyone gets. Some of the frags have a small piece of original plug left that I was able to glue to the new plug, others have the polyp directly glued to the new plug. It will be interesting to see if there is a different growth rate with these two methods.

Gary, am I seeing two new baby zoas on your entry?

There does appear to be some tiny nubs. I changed the tank from 2 part to kalkwasser on 5/22/18. Ph for a day runs from 8.25 to just over 8.5. It has been a little unstable but I have been damping out the swings. Shooting for a max of 8.5 (Apex now doesn't allow the ATO to operate for Ph > 8.5). I'm also slowly bring up the Kh (desire 9.0 to 9.5) All the corals appear to be happier and more puffy.

Your off shoot is as big as the main zoa. That is a lot of growing in a month. Nice job!

3 polyps. I’ve had a few issues come up this month but I think things are back on track.
Salinity creeped up to 1.028 (Added too much mag, ATO failed as well)
Alk fluctuations between 9.5-10.8. (Due to salinity change)
Overdosed Bioclean (didn’t need to clean algae off the glass for a week)
Trace element supplementation has been questionable
Experimented with not doing water changes for a few months
Added a Skimz macroalgae reactor

These Zoas have really taken off the last few weeks. Have 8 polyps and 3 nubs. Due to the angle, I couldn’t get a sharp picture of all the heads. The glass distorts the macro lens.

WE HAVE A WINNER!!! :be happy:
Congrats to Steve who ended up with over 12 polyps. Also, congrats to Brian (heinbaughb) with a close second place. Thanks to the club for adding a second place prize ($25 gift card). Thanks to all who participated.
This should be a yearly event.

Thanks Kelly, I would have to agree about the yearly contest.

Kelly,
Thanks for starter zoas and making it possible!
Everyone,
Great job to all that participated.
Congratulations to Steve (Grand Poobah) and Brian (heinbaughb) for running a very close competition!

fun fun, sign me up for the next one!

My favorite part was that Kelly had to give me free zoas.

That big meat coral of yours would have eaten them.
