What fish do you regret putting in your tank?
« on: February 12, 2014, 20:09:25 »
Mine would be a purple dotty back, the cheapest fish in my tank. He likes to terrorize my Pearlyface Jawfish, and Fathead Anthias.

I'll help you with that. I'll take the pearly and fathead. Then you won't have to worry about them anymore.

Then I'll wear a wig. Or grow a little hair.

Diadem dottyback and any damsel I have ever tried. Dottyback was the nastiest fish ever and only about a inch and a half long.

I never expected a dottyback to be so evil. I thought they only didn't get along with fish of same body shape.

6-Line wrasse.  He was a great fish then one day turned into a A-hole and started beating up other fish  :th_taptaptap_sml:

Dwarf Hawkfish, He is a cool little fish, but I am unable to have any shrimp in the tank and he always tries to bully any new fish. I have tried to catch him with nets for 6 months unsuccessfully. One of these days I'll get a trap.lol

A 4"engineer goby. He destroyed my sand by mounding it all on one side and caused my rock to fall apart. I think I had the head engineer!!!!

I don't have it anymore but mine would be mine old lionfish. I had a piar of 15 year old clowns that it ate one day out of the blue. Needless to say he left my tank the next day.

A mated pair of tomato clownfish. The male was only 2" long, but the female grew and grew and grew- she was 8" of attitude when she found a new home. She wouldn't just nip at you, she'd clamp on and shake like a dog with a rat. I *still* have dime-sized football shaped scars from her.

damsels (black and white, dominos) have always turned into very aggressive fish. However, the absolute worse fish I ever had were two sergent major damsels. The attacked anything in the tank and had to tear the whole tank apart to catch them.

First clowns I ever owned and you are right they are mean.

Why is it all the fish my wife likes are on this list somewhere.  The yellowtail damsel that came with our re-homed tank nips at the  turbo snail, not thinking he's gonna be a long time resident.

We used domino damsels for cycling.  After we cycled, we introduced some clowns.  That is when the largest damsel became undesirable number 1.  We were finally able to catch him after we took out all the rock.  Then a month later our three remaining damsels were being nasty so we had to take all the rock out again to catch those suckers. I will never do a damsel again.

I know as a trade its not worth anything but would someplace like Gerbers take him in?  He's healthy and cute but appears to have the typical ornary damsel temperament.

Oh yeah, we brought all 4 to Gerber's.  This was a few months back.  They gave me next to nothing, but I just wanted to give them a good home.

Yes we will take them in but we can not give much on them just because we always get damsels back.

I love him and hes getting so so big, but I forgot to keep in mind that my engineer goby will make the movement of my sand bed his only hobby.  Its taking me forever to compromise with him on the placement of my live rock.

Bannana wrasse  He would  do good and swim into gravel and stir detritus but in return ate all  small worms that he could find
