Identify algae
« on: April 04, 2013, 00:48:14 »
so I noticed this algae and don't look good but it is in my frag seciton only of my sump area. Should I just leave it be. Since its not in display. Or should I clean if up before it gets a chance to move up to display?

Looks like hair algae to me. It can spread pretty quick too.

Yeah I put that in when I was a newbie I've been meaning to changes that just been lazy. Been wanting to run pvc instead of flex for the return.

Any type of metal other than Titanium is not good in saltwater. It will rust and cause nasty unwanted algae.
