Sponges, algaes and stuff
« on: July 29, 2014, 19:57:03 »
Getting ready to order some stuff for the seahorse tank. That got me thinking, does anyone ever worry about hitch hikers on macros, sponges, pods ect? I don't think the tank is ready for sponges just yet, but just wanted to put this question out there. I don't want any problems with this tank. And will take all precautions to do so.

I'm about 90% sure my flatworm population started out by hh-ing in on some macro algae.  Maybe rinse whatever you get in coral rx or revive or something, not like a dip more like as swish.  You could even pop new stuff into a bucket of saltwater and blast it with a turkey baster to dislodge any potential evil things.

All good ideas Vicki. I think I've even heard of giving macros  a fresh water rinse. I'm going to do something for sure. I'm going to be getting some macros from reefs2go soon. So I'll have to figure it out.
