salinity

 i checked my water tonight and my salinity is 1.3 what can i do about this i checked the water i have been topping off my sump  with and that's the cause 1.023  water so i cracked open a new rodi and checked it it was 0 so i put 2 gallons in the sump and took a gallon from the tank itself after it balanced out water level i added another 1/2 gallon so did i do ok .now just top off with ro till it comes down or what

It's never a good idea to drop salinity very quickly. You should do it slowly.

my sump was low so i added it there and just a little to the tank too drastic ?

To take you salinity for 1.30 to 1.23 is not something you want to do on a regular basis.

ya the water i was topping off with i thought was reg ro but with the evaporation and the top off of rodi salt thats what put it high .
