Title: How to remove zoos from a rock without killing them...????
Post by: apelaston on June 01, 2008, 21:26:08
I have zoos and an acan sharing a rock and the acan is killing the zoos due to growth...is there anyway I can get the zoos off of the rock minus chiseling and the zoos survive or would I be better moving the acan which I am scared to do since I only have one of those and 100 polyps of this particular zoo.....either way i would still prefer what i move to live..

any suggestions or ideas?

Chisel the zoos. It won't kill them if you take some rock with them.

Sometimes I've managed to scrape them carefully off with a credit card, but other times it doesn't work.  The best thing to do is to chisel.  Sorry.

Everyone was new at this at one point.  In a couple of months you will be asking how to get rid of them.  Make sure you put them somewhere where they can have plenty of room to grow.  Good luck

you talking about the credit cards or the zoos lol i will probably need help with both now that I have started my saltwater expedition haha
Make sure you put them somewhere where they can have plenty of room to grow.
I ave all of them pretty segregated in my tank and on the sand actually so that things don't get out of control and i am sure i could get them off of the sand rather easily. I HOPE.

zoo's can be bad about spreading but I think Anthelia tops the charts.

any my anthelia or pom pom coral whichever it is (i get conflicting answers) hasn't spread from the 5 inch piece of tonga that i got it on at all....... lol

neither have my green star polyps..shoot i think they are actually receding but everything else seems to be thriving..
