Ah,
Don't feel bad Brian. All is good, nothing ugly or anything like that.
I have since bought a house that I close on on the 30th of this month.
The reason I bought thie house I did was because there is no wall between the living room and dining room.
That could mean only one thing.
This reef tank has to be set up as a peninsula style. :)
Which of course means the first of many trips to Lowes.

New tank has been ordered since the holes in the back glass are now worthless.

Getting the stand framed up.

Well, it supports the tank while empty!  :)

Now to make it look good. Off to Lowes.

Got the stand and canopy skinned.

Made the doors out of 1/2 aspen plywood with 1/4 strips glued to the edges so had to cover the edges with this stuff.

Was sceptical at first but it worked really well.

Stained and ready to go. Went for a kind of contemorary look.

OOPS!

Moving into house this weekend so just ordered a new sump.
Another little surprise happened I built my stan for the peninsula tank using my old tank as a template. Back of stand nice and flush with top of tank. Well, Lo and behold the new tank is 1 1/2 inches shorter than the old.
So, which one is a 125 is my question.

At least an even lumber size so I can build a little riser for the canopy.
Ugh

At last all is right with the world. Tank is up and running!  :-bannanna
Checked salinity and temp at lunch today. Still A bit on the cool side and needed more salt.
hopefully live rock tomorrow.
Goal for the weekend is to have lights functioning again.

Still not sure if I'm happy with the aquascaping. May tweek that a bit.

I know the feeling, I am usually not happy with it, even when I am happy with it. Always wanting to change something.

First tenants in the new 125. Got them earlier today and already eating with gusto.
Looking forward to getting corals in here.
Checking account going to be abused here in the not too distant future. :)

Me too. Been kicking around how to stock this thing.
Was kind of thinking of doing a kind of aggresive reef.
Love Niger Triggers but decided on a more laid back reef.
Triggers are a bit too messy.
Think I'm going to try a Copperband Butterfly.
Awesome fish.

I have had one for about 7 years. No aptasia. No clams either, but it is a beautiful fish.

Sweet. Glad to hear of a success story.
From what I've researched as long as you can get them
Eating not too bad to maintain.
They are gorgeous.

Newest additions.
Havent had a Zebrasoma Flavescens in a while. Got him on sale for 34 bucks so couldn't pass that up.

Always liked Kole Tangs.

Also a pair of Ocellaris Clowns
Got this one because of the unusual markings. The more I look at it, it looks like the top view of a toilet.
The toilet clown.

Cool looking clown. Is that some sort of designer clown or is it just a extreme misbar?

It was just sold as a plain Ocellaris. (extreme misbar).
