Title: Red Bubble Algea.
Post by: Secondgen on June 17, 2007, 23:39:59
Can anyone give me some advice on how to safely get rid of red bubble algea? My tank for some reason decided to have an outbreak. I thought about getting an emerald crab because I have always heard that they are the only natural way to get rid of this stuff. Any and all information would be a great help. Truthfully I am not even sure what causes this type of algea. This happened just recently, I have had no other problems with this before.

Is it the grape algea?  If it is cut it off with a razorblabe, but be careful not to cut yourself or the sacks of algea.  If you cut the sacks of algea they will release their spores into your tank.

I would say it is the grape algea Travis and there is alot of it. I would be cutting for awhile. There is no cure for this stuff aside from manual removal?
