I have 2 clown fish,3 green chromis, 2 domino damsels, and 1 lawnmower blenny.... the ol lady really wants me to get a yellow tang. so was wondering if it would get along with the fish that i have already.

What size is your tank? You will realy have to keep a close eye on the damsels, especially those imparticular can be quite aggressive.

kind of a small tank for a tang its a 55. the damsels now are about an 1" big.

as justin said- those domino damsels get very big, very ugly, and very mean. a small yellow tang in a 55 shouldnt be a problem, but it certainly wont be a good "forever home"

Get rid of the dominos, get yourself a small yellow tang and your set for a couple years, i had a xxlarge in a 55 with no problems

Yeah i've been kinda thinking about getting rid of them cuz there so aggresive. i have a tank divider for it so i can divide it untill i find them a new home.

ive got a xxlarge yellow tang, a 4" blue hippo and 5 or 6 inch vllamingii they dont pay any attention to each other your welcome to see um just let me know

tangs r ok aslong as they have a differance body shape but people have had tang that shoulnt get along get along

removing the damsels would help.... tangs aren't a problem in your 55g as long as they are ones that are small & stay small & also do not have a ton of energy.

Naso, Vlmingi, Sohal & a few others get big with the later 2 would outgrow the tank in months so they are a no

Powder Blue, powder brown, achilles & a few others have way to much energy for a 55g & wouldn't have enough room to stay busy

Blue Hep tangs can grow fast but do not swim a lot so they would be fine in there. Same with a yellow tang, not active swimmer..... they just have a big attitude

the hep/hippo tangs are also ich magnets, not nearly as bad as a poweder blue but a lot more sensitive then the yellow

I am sorry but a 55 is not big enough for any size tang. Hippo Tangs will swim around if given the space. If they do not have space they will just sit there. A yellow tang will always be moving around and needs space to swim.

i got a hippo tang two days ago and all she does is hide under this rock. wont come up to eat or anything. whenever i leave the room she's up and swimming around but soon as i come in she's hiding. any ideas on how to feed or is this normal behavior for a hippo in a new tank. all the other fish i got eat the same day i bring them home.

I know there not for long term i have a 180 gallon i'm gonna convert to salt water here sometime.

It's because your SCARY

It's normal behavior. In the morning or right before lights out, mine acts like that.

As for food, mine won't touch dried algea in a clip. In that case, get yourself some Ocean Nutrition Formula Two, either flake or pellet.

Yellow tangs are schooling fish ... maybe thats why there are 3 ... just a thought

Built in overflows come in 75, also 65, and 60's.

if u want to pay for it u can get an overflow in any sized tank
+1 on the tank looks very deep but could be how the rock is stack but it does look great

Looks like a large tank to me. has to be more like a 120 or even a 180. Large koralia pumps and a vortech.

Like i wrote its a 75 gallon tank, but you can make it whatever you wish, you can ask several people in this club thats been to my place and seen my setup, its a 75 gallon tank , with 2 overflowes, and ive got 3 # 4s and 1 # 3 korrillas running a mag 12 in my 55 refuge,
