Silicone

I have located silicone to assist all with the question of reef safe.  US Plastics Corp. sells SCS1200 construction.  100% pure silicone.  This is the stuff that is used to build aquariums.  It is considered a Specialty item made by GE.  The cost is under $10.00 for a large tube.  I have been using it for years for different reef projects, I have even built a frag tank with it, no problems at all except when you need to cut it out, very strong stuff.  Keep in mind it does state on the tube not for use under water but the research I have found is that GE does not want the liability for a DIY aquarium leaking and flooding some ones home so the underwater disclaimer is added.  I have removed baffles that have been installed for years and the silicone was just as strong as day 1.
