I got mine from filterdirect.com years ago and it's still running good. At the time I got mine they were selling on ebay and I was able to get it pretty "cheap".

That's a good price, Travis! Even if you have to replace the filters.

They recommend the prefilters be replaced every 6-12 months. The RO membrane depends on the rejection rate.

If it doesn't have a inline TDS meter, spend the few dollars and get one, it's a must have with a RO system.  If you don't buy it I am and I'm going to get it and give it to my sister because they are too cheap to buy one.....lol.   And they wonder why they have issues with their tank.  I would go ahead and order all new pre filters, and hopefully mbettman can give you an approximate age on the RO membrane.  Try it....see if your getting 0 tds water, and if you aren't, then replace the membrane.  All in all your still way ahead and you have a killer water making system.

What's a tds meter cost?

Probably pick up a handheld one fairly cheaply on ebay. Several on ebay now for under $10. eBay TDS meters

You will never get 0 TDS water out of the membrane. You will need a DI chamber after the RO to get down to 0 TDS.

All membranes have a rejection rate. You measure the TDS of the water going into the unit. You then measure the TDS of the water coming out. Subtract the TDS out from the TDS in. Then take that number and divide it by the TDS in and that will give you your rejection rate. For my 75gpd membrane I'm looking for a rejection rate of 95% plus. If the rejection rate is lower then it is time to replace the membrane.

FWIW, I've had my RO unit for 5 years plus and still am getting a 95%+ rejection rate.
