Your recommendations for a CUC in a reef
« on: August 08, 2013, 16:07:19 »
I just set up my 220.  It's going to be a reef.  I am interested in getting recommendations for clean up crews.  I'm not worried about quantity yet, just ideas for the crew.

I like nassarius for sand cleanup, I also like having the blue leg (smaller) hermit crabs.
I am not set on these but I like them, I still need recommendations on algae cleaners.

Toss out your ideas, I am looking forward to some good ideas.
Thanks and God Bless,
John

My recommendation would be to use whatever reefcleaners.org suggests to get.

I went with I think Mexican turbo snails and a bunch of blue legs.  In a short period of time the snails became food for the crabs.

I think I will just use crabs when I get some next time...... Its in my fowlr

Love to try a urchin but worried what my trigger would do to it
300g tub o fish

I decided to try to go crabless with my 180g, and am very happy I did.  I got tired of them killing my snails and each other competing for shells.  My clean up crews last a lot longer now and I haven't had to replenish in quite a while.

What I'm using:

-Hawaiian Strombus
-Cerith
-Tiger Trocheus
-Nassarius
-Nerite
-Periwinkles
-Astrea
