Now, how do I move a Anemone?
« on: April 25, 2008, 00:18:28 »
Okay everybody, I got one more question about moving things. I can’t find anything on getting a Anemone off of a rock onto another on the internet except let it move on its own.

I have a nice bluish green flower Anemone that I would like to transfer to the cube. Is this even possible or will the lady I’m selling the rock to get a new Anemone too?

If you can get to an edge of his foot you might be able to slowly peel him off. This usually works pretty well on glass, but if hes entrenched on the rock you might be out of luck.

Chances are he has his foot down in a hole in the rock.

I've had some luck rubbing its foot.  It'll get annoyed and release the rock on its own.  If the foot is down in a hole, yeah, I don't know on that one.

I've heard of people rubbing it's foot with ice to get it off too. I haven't tried it, just heard it.

I tried rubbing his foot, and then rubbing it some more, and a little more and he didn’t budge at all. So then i got the ice cube and all that did was make him move around the rock. I gave up, lifted the rock from the water and he fell right off back into the tank. So I scooped'em up and he’s now residing in my nano.

I don’t know if it was all the rubbing with my finger or the ice cube, but thanks a lot.

Isnt rubbing always key?

Either way, it worked for the anemone after a few ice cubes because they kept melting.
