Well after lucking out three times being home when my exquisite wrasse has jumped out of my aquarium. I finally got off my butt and done something about it. I ran across a Video on YouTube while looking up screen tops. It is polycarbonate roofing for awnings and greenhouses. It is clear as can be and supposed to hold up to heat and uv. Basically just plastic channels. Got it cut in around my overflow and return as close as I could. Hopefully a cheap and easy life saver. Also have to see how it holds up in the long run.

How much was it and where did you get it that looks like a great idea

Home Depot $20. 26 inch x 8ft.

Does that help defuse your light a little bit

Interesting idea.

I haven't noticed any difference on the lighting. I am kind of overkill with the two ocean revive units over a three foot tank. The pictures look 20k but it is dialed in to I would say a 12-14k. So it's pretty bright.

You don't think this will effect gas exchange? Just curious

Not sure. Every other channel is raised about a half an inch on the ends. So hopefully that will help.

Cool idea!

IMO if a sump is involved, gas exchange shouldn't be hampered.
