I'm already preparing for the swap! I have dozens of frags already cut and growing for the swap. I'll also have a hand full of ultra grade tank raised maxi clams listed on frag swapper a week prior to the swap as well as some blue squamosas

Hopefully there will be a very large turnout. The swap needs to get here so I can get rid of all these frags on my sandbed. Found some very nice frag cups at US Plastics I'm going to use to transport with and sell in. Very strong and solid plastic cups and a water tight seal.

As items are beginning to role in from club supporters for the raffle thought we would share some information about it and how to get free raffle tickets.

How the Raffle works
At the swap there will be a staging area with several tables setup. The raffle items will be displayed on the tables along with a collection cup next to each item. Place your raffle tickets in the collection cups for the items you wish to win. The raffle tickets can be purchased at the swaps entrance where you pay admittance fee. When the raffle has started someone will mix up the tickets in the collection cup and blindly select one. If it is yours you win that item. The more tickets purchased the better your chances of winning and there is no limit to the number of items you can win. However you must be present to win.

How To Get 3 Free Raffle Tickets
In addition to purchasing raffle tickets you can obtain free tickets for posting items for sale on Fragswapper. For every three unique items you post on Fragswapper you will receive one free raffle ticket up to a maximum of 3 free tickets. Swap vendors are excluded from receiving free raffle tickets. Your tickets will be waiting for you when you arrive. Just tell the cashier your Fragswapper email address

Note: A unique item on Fragswapper no matter how many "quantity" counts as one item. i.e. One item with quantity of nine is considered one item.

Below is the final vendor list. We still have a few early-bird hobbyists spots available which comes with Power and an 8 foot table to setup a small tank. Their are also smaller 4x4 tables available if you want reserved space for those without a tank or power requirements.

SATURDAY IS THE BIG EVENT!

Doors open at noon for general admission, 7am for Vendors, 8am for Earlybirds and the raffle starts at 3:00. The address is 313 S. JEFFERSON DAYTON, OHIO 45402.

We are expecting an excellent turnout. Most of the live stock vendors have made special orders with their suppliers to bring in the most exotic and colorful corals.

Just like any other swap the first half hour will be a madhouse with people rushing through the door anxious to get set up and treasure hunting. Please be patient as everyone settles in.

Don't forget to print off your checklist from fragswapper.

Ok, I have been thinking long and hard about this one. Ohio Reef is almost my home club and since I love my home club I want to give you guys the best possible deals...so...here is what I am going to do. I will have a limited supply at the swap of the PR-72 units in daylight and moonlight configurations. They are normally $329 each and I'll be selling them to you and you only for $275.

It's a 72 watt dimmable pendant fixture. We are giving one away in the raffle and more will be available at the booth. This is what the fixture looks like.

The other special is on our Atlantik fixture. I can't post any specifics on pricing but let's just say you won't want to miss this one..... Mention this post and I will reveal the price to you when I show you the fixture. This fixture is the best deal on the market for medium to large tanks. You aren't going to believe it.

The food turned out awesome as promised. I took the Reef Frenzy and deleted the veggies and nori. I then added 2x the normal Oyster Eggs, Cyclops, Rotifers, Phyto and powdered zooplankton. Then the seafood went back into the processor and ended up about 15% more pureed than the Reef Frenzy you have in the store.

I have over 50 4 ounce packs (actually generously filled) for the show, and NO you cannot have them all for the store!

I plan on offering a nice "bundle" price on our foods so folks can sample the different blends.

BTW- My son bailed out on me due to school work, so I am a bachelor Saturday night after the swap.....where's everyone eating?!?!

The raffle bundles are done and ready to be packed on dry ice for the trip tomorrow morning to OH. Ten lucky winners are going to get a pack of Reef Frenzy, Herbivore Frenzy, and Fish Frenzy. Of course I included a swedish fish (which ships with every order) a keyring/bottle opener and a postcard explaining all the "Carolina Goodness" in each pack of food.

It is going to be nice Saturday and although warmer then it has been still on the cool side. Consider adding a couple hand warmers to your cooler you are transporting your corals in. You can tape them to the inside of the lid so they are not in direct contact with the bags but keep the livestock warm.

Just a question when usually by fish or coral I usually go straight home. How long will coral be good in bags? Ive never been to something like this before so just wondering how do I insure my corals will be fine the whole time?

Corals stay in bags for 24hours in shipping. Just get some Hand warmers and tape them to the lid of your cooler

I'm sure there are pods in it, my mandarin is so fat he can barely swim. I know my Hawaiian Strombus Snails breed in there, I've also seen bristle worms. There are no pests that I know of, but it grows pretty dense I can't see everything.

Orphek Just rolled into town. The truck is loaded down with all kinds of LED goodies. Have Atlantik and DIF's to demo for all the big tank crowd and control freaks out there. We are offering a special on orders for these units, they're too big to fit that many in the truck.

Tomorrow's special will be on the PR-72 units available in either the reef mix or the blue/UV moonlight/actinic version.

Awsome time went home more than broke. Order orphek Atlantik lights today from Scott, got some awsome buckshot clowns from booyahs clowns( which I am sure I will have to order from him after I recoup from the swap), and lots of nice frags from many vendors. Thank a lot to all the staff and everyone's hard work. This was my 3rd swap of Ohio Reef and I am sure now that I am a premium member it will become a every year thing.

Today feels like Christmas in March for me.

Got a couple Jason fox pieces directly from the man himself
A piece from 10k's corals
My LED's from the Marine Solutions group buy (Tank looks amazing already).
To top it off I got the Orphek light in the raffle (time to build that frag tank).

Best of all I met some great people and had an amazing time. Thanks to everyone who contributed in putting on one hell of a show.

this was a quality show, this was only my second true frag swap that i have attended in all the years of doing reef tanking
the staff was great and vendors are very friendly

i went in with the idea of looking for only a ro/di unit and ended up walking out with alot of quality pices
looking forward to seeing the ann arbor show today

to all that had planned and worked it also, all vendors........pat yourself on your back

for a job well done

i meet a few new members and ran into some old friends and vendors from michigan
i am looking forward to the next show

Congrats on the awesome score of the PR72 that we donated. You'll have to keep us updated on how it's doing for you. Some of the best colors in my tank are under this light and the growth has been fantastic!
