flow restrictor

can i change my flow restrictor in my r/o unit from a 50gpd to a higher rate per day or will this mess it up...i'm thinking i cant but not sure

You can replace the flow restrictor but it must be matched to the flow rate of the r/o membrane.

In other words, if you put in a 100 GPD membrane, you put in a 100 GPD restrictor or if you have a 50 GPD membrane, you use a 50 GPD restrictor...etc.

As long as the restrictor and the membrane are rated for one another, you can swap them out.
