Chalice Question

I have a Chalice frag on a 2" Disk. I bought
it at the swap last yr and also had a red sponge
on it too. Now the red sponge has nearly
encircled the chalice. So, I'm seeing the Chalice
pull back.
I care more for the Chalice, so is it possible
to scrape the sponge off? Will it grow back?

If it were mine, I would scrape the sponge off, then let the chalice sit out of water for a minute or two.  By exposing what's left of the sponge to air, it will die.  The Chalice won't suffer one bit, and in the end you should be rid of the sponge.
