Cleaning skimmer....How often?

Just curious how ofter everyone completely cleans their skimmer or if you even clean it

Does not cleaning it hurt performance?

I only clean the collection cup and neck once a month or so.

I dump out/clean the collection about once a week. I had mine for almost 9 months before I cleaned the pump and body. Didn't notice any improvement in performance after cleaning it.

Berlin venturi gets cleaned once a month.  It's a must, as the preformance goes way down if not cleaned.  Collection cup and neck every other week as it is a small neck and it builds up fast.   

ASM G4x Cup and neck once a month. 

I would think the neck would have to be cleaned on most skimmers at least once every 4-6 months to keep the performance from being reduced too much by the buildup.

I clean my Aqua C EV (spray injector) skimmer three times a week (foam tower and collection cup). Aqua C recommends cleaning the  foam tower and collection cup at least twice a week for best results.
