20 Gal Long Reef Stocking
« on: June 27, 2013, 14:57:03 »
Hello,
I plan on doing mostly softies and lps in my reef but later on I would like to add fish. I have been leaning towards some species of cool clowns and possibly a marine beta. How does that sound?

A 20 long is to small for a marine Betta but the clowns would be fine.

I had read that the marine beta could do good in a 20 gal?

I mean they get 8 inches long and like caves to hind in. I honestly wouldn't do it but that's just me.

Oh that is way bigger than what i had read they get. I read they only get a max of maybe 4 in. So yea I might go another way and get a tiny goby or fire fish

A goby plus shrimp would be really cool for that size tank. Like a watchmen and pistol shrimp.

I was actually thinking about that as well if I couldnt do the beta. What would be the best pair of those two for a begginer such as myself?

The yellow watchmen goby and tiger pistol shrimp are popular and have been hardy in my experience.

Okay cool, thank you for the info, I will for sure look into the goby and shrimp pair instead. Read up on them as well, sound like a lot more fun to watch them than the beta  :D
