Welcome new August & September members
« on: October 01, 2011, 14:54:18 »
Just wanted to say hello and Welcome to the 33 new members that joined Ohio Reef August & September. Hope you find Ohio Reef Club fun and informative. Feel free to introduce yourself if you haven't already. You are also welcome to create a Tank Profile  here It can be used to personally track your tank history, specifications, pictures and share your experience with the rest of Ohio Reef.

If you like the social aspects of a club you are welcome to attend the monthly meetings. Sometimes we get together at a restaurant and other months members open up their home but regardless it is always a great time. If you haven't already heard, this month we have a special event. It is a private guided behind the scenes tour of Newport Aquarium where you can get an inside look at the Aquarium facility and learn what it takes to maintain a one million-gallon environment.  In this guided tour, you’ll see miles of pipes, explore how the animals are fed and visit the dive station and acclimation area.  You'll also learn more about their vet and water quality labs. From divers in fins to animals in transport – you never know what you’ll discover. Tickets are still available. Details can be found here

Our reefing friends in Cincinnati are also hosting their annual trade show the same weekend. So make it a great day and visit their event in the morning. Details can be found here

If you would like to get more involved in our community feel free to contact me directly. There are lots of fun things we do such as organizing special events, annual trade show setup & coordination,  local school science department tank maintenance, publications etc....

If you haven't already seen check out what Todd a member of Ohio Reef put together for Bethel junior high here. There is still a lot of work to be done so please contact him directly if you have some time or a donation for Bethel School. Any little bit will help
