Anyone currently using or have ever used ozone? What are the pros & cons? Why did you chose to use it or stop using it?

Joe,
I have used it in the past and water clarity is incredible when useing it, with that being said it will kill all bacteria in a tank good and bad to a sterilization level which is great for a fish only system but not for a reef system. Ultra low nutrient tanks turned out not to be as good for corals as once thought.
If your still interested in it i can pm you my number vs a lengthy post.
You will need a orp controller to run one via a apex or other controller, or a stand alone unit. And a ozone reactor or ozone safe skimmer with the later not giving enough contact time for proper ozone saturation, along with carbon at the point of discharge to eliminate the free radicals.

I would agree with this.   Also having to keep a desiccant filter on the ozone generator intake is a PITA

I have wanted to go the ozone route for a while but have other things I need to throw money at first.  My tank is a FOWLR so to me the sterile environment is OK.  I actually dosed copper a year ago in my tank so there are no inverts :(  I do see small critters climbing on the acrylic at times so I hope someday I can add them to the tank again.

My biggest reason for wanting ozone is simply to eliminate yellow water.... A quality ozone unit is $500+ if I recall plus all the other stuff that goes with it....

I will more then likely buy a bio pellet reactor before I buy a ozone unit.... that is if I buy ozone.  For me I think a big skimmer and bio pellets might be my best and safest route to go

If you test your tank with a copper test kit and it shows zero you can add this product to your tank to get the trace amounts out so you can feel confident about safetly adding inverts.  http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/CupriSorb.html
