Friend or foe?
« on: February 13, 2012, 12:38:14 »
Found this in my sump shortly after the lights went out.

Can someone please help me identify this? Thank you for your time and efforts!

Kind of hard to make out. Can you get a closer shot?

Honestly, that is about the best I can do.
I can tell you however, that it looks like a green bristle worm with some type of secreted cocoon, or skin.

If it is in your sump only, it's  a friend!  Looks like a mini sea cucumber which would be good for your reef, if confirmed.

It is probably some-type of  smaller worm that lives within the sediments/sand bed...ie, a  beneficial scavenger for your sump.

I put it back in the sump. I have been keeping an eye for more of them and where they are.

I can't tell you what it is but years ago I had one. It looked and moved like a green inch worm. I saw it a couple times but long gone now.
