Well water treated through a softener and then a FilterDirect 75gpd RO/DI system.

im not sure if its the pipes in my house or the water in Tipp City is just really bad. Before i got my ro/di I had alot of trouble with alge. The tds of the incomming water from my house is 650-800 tds.

right now the only thing the city does for water is to add chlorine and an iron suspension chemical.  other than that it is straight from the well.  in a few months it will be about 70% RO water 30% well.  all of it will be filtered for iron and manganese though.

I voted RO/DI but I use both.  I have freshwater planted tanks that get a mix and freshwater tanks that get only tap but my reef-in-the-making gets RO/DI water.

I don't use any of the above.

I use distilled water.

i used to use walmart distilled until my tank was no longer 12 gal. when i went to the 75 i had to get a ro/di unit. the 150 is a must!!   i run a typhoon 3   75 gal/day unit.

I use a 4-stage RO/DI system.  For the DI cartridge, I use Kent's Hi-S DI Silicamax.
