I have one but the tangs just rip the algae right out of it in a few seconds.  I just hold the algae and let them eat out of my hand.
Firefighting:  How hard can it be?  You just put the wet stuff on the red stuff right?

57 Rimless SPS/LPS in the works

OLD:180g mixed reef, 60g sump, 2 30g frag tanks, 30g macro algae tank.  300g total system.

It would be nice if they made the springs a little stiffer in them....

I've seen these in use, they are quite a bit nicer. I guess it depends on how much your willing to pay?  :hmmmm:

I've gone through 3 from my petstore...  my tangs jerk the nori so hard they pull the clip right off the glass so i can't get the things to suction very well...  but a magnet one sounds like a great idea!

Too difficult, who likes to reach in to pick up the tile when they are done.      The mag float algae clip is the best.   Even if the tangs rip it off, it floats to the surface of the water.

or to prevent from gettin ur hand wet just put a piece of string in between the times or tie it to the rubberband and then you have a way to pull it out

Oils, and who knows what else form our skin gets transferred to the water. I know there are several people who use grab sticks, tongs, and/or gloves. There is also the threat of the palytoxins that most paly's, and zoa's release.

If you have an open cut on your hand, and want an infection, just stick it in your tank.

Some people worry about it, others not so much. Thats the thing about this hobby, what might work for one might not for another. Its your choice to decide whats right and what isn't
