Opinions needed: 2 part additives
« on: January 13, 2017, 20:24:28 »
Question:

I have always used Kent marine A and B in my tanks; which were never over 40 gallons.

Since I now have a 75g, I will be using greater quantities. Kent is not cost effective for me to continue using it.

So... I am thinking of using E.S.V. B-Ionic Calcium Buffer system.

Any opinions?

Thanks!  :)

Never used it. Currently using BRS Bulk CAL Chloride, Mag Chloride, Epsom salts and Arm & Hammer Baking soda.

Used to use Seachem Reef Builder and Reef Advantage Calcium and loved them. Just not cost effective with 180. Love Seachem products.

BRS. Little bit of a hassle mixing the ALK.  Nowadays I just mix it in a 5 gallon bucket with a high flow powerhead... adding scoops slowly.  It seems easier than a gallon at a time.

I have used brightwell A and B since I started my tank. I am consuming enough now that I just got BRS 2 part to start using.     I have been happy with it but going bulk is cheaper by far.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I would go with BRS but I do like the convince of a pre-mixed solution :)

Kenn,

I have used the ESV for 3 years with no issue, convenience. Now that I have a heavy SPS load I have been thinking about going to the BRS as well.
