Okay so we had a small miracle while breaking down the 20. We had bought a yellow goby (the sand sifter type) a few months ago, but he was a scaredie cat and jumped into the overflow several times. And jumped out of the tank once. Last we had seen him was 2 to 3 months ago.

We just broke down the 20, took the tank in the yard and sprayed it down with the hose. After rinsing everything out, I noticed a gold color in the grass, and imagine my surprise to find the goby laying in the grass gasping for breath. Quickly scooped him up and threw him into the 90.

So you think you've had a bad day, this poor guy has been in the dark for 2 months, limited food, no sand to dig in, no rock to dig under, then suddenly get a freezing cold tap water bath, lay in the grass for a couple minutes and then thrown into a new tank.

Added in 32oz of pods to the sump/refugium and got a tiger pistol shimp. Unfortunately it seems the shimp went into the least visible location. Hoping the pods do well as we are planning a mandrian, a pipefish, and a ruby dragonet in the future

Thought I would put out an updated picture. So far everything is looking good except for the favia and toadstool, which I am suspicious that the lights were too strong when I turned acclimation off. So acclimation mode turned back on at 50% for a month. Added 32oz more pods into the sump, removed the filter sock, and just letting things run.

Good news is that the cuc is finally putting a big dent into the gha and the clove corals are starting to emerge from it. Maybe a couple more weeks until gha is gone.

Is the yellow goby still kicking?

Not just kicking, but thriving! He's gotten his color back, eating well, and paired up with the tiger pistol we got for him. Been wondering if we should get a pistol for the pink spot. Only concern is that he is MASSIVE as an engineer. Might need a very large pistol for him. Still debating, but having to limit acquisitions to match funds.

He doesn't look like he just came out of the grass.  That's awesome.

So thought I would post some updates. Got an ATO in place (many thanks to pipbull). Experienced my first acrylic shaping while making brackets for the float. Thankfully only went through two small sheets.

Everything is starting to look better for the most part, still need to do more chemical tests but I do know that I am not getting anywhere near enough ammonia in the tank as the macro is not doing well.

About to cut off some more rastas and debating on what to make a large frag from. Should I do candy apple, bam bams, and rastas on a single rock? Or maybe do Tyree armor of God and pink hippos on a rock?

Anyways, here are the pics!

Looking good buddy.
ammonia  is bad so no ammonia is good....lol think you meant nitrate
remember take it Slow its a new tank dont go adding a bunch of additives right away.. It takes time to mature and stabilize
Candy Apples look great by themselves and even better in a colony

True, shouldn't have any ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites, but my thinking is that with only 5 small fish in there and a ton of inverts, I don't think I'm doing much to encourage good cycle/bacteria growth since there is not much waste.

Was thinking of a combo just for color as well as a nice selling piece.

Also on the look out for a small (I.e. less than 2 inches) powder blue or hippo Tang.

Just takes time
combos are always nice just have to find them with similar growth rates or one might take over the other

That's why I was thinking the aogs and pink hippos or doing the Rasta, bam bam, and candy apply combo, they have about the same growth rate and size versus something like Rasta and aogs

Picked up a new addition this weekend. Found a purple whip gorgonia. This is very long, might even be able to frag parts of it before too long. I am assuming it's not in much demand though.
