Car People
« on: February 24, 2009, 22:20:26 »
I know that there are a hand full of car fanatics here. I'm aware of a GTO, a bad ass blown maverick, new guy with a viper, I think Dave has a second gen camaro, Lisa's dad has a sec-gen camaro,  there's even a lowly 5.0 mustang sitting next to that GTO. I bet there are a few others. A hand ful of people with bikes too. I have a Chevelle myself but it's under major construction.

Anyway, on June 10th at UD arena the Hot Rod Power Tour is making a stop there. This will be a major turn out of Muscle Cars and mega dollar bad ass build ups. I, with or with out my chevelle will be there. I think it might be cool if the other club members of Ohio Reef interested in this kind of thing all meet up there. Show off your other overpriced hobby :D

I know it's months away but does anyone else have any interest in this? It would be fun and an opportunity to see some awesome cars. I was at the kick off in Florida two years ago and it was awesome!!!!

In the past, there was a registration fee if you were a part of the actual tour but to just be a spectator at the stop off points was free.

I just sold my 98 Avenger that I had some nice mods on...  Nothing compared to your guys' pure muscle, but it was peppy and looked sharp... :D   Had to upgrade to an MDX to fit the expanding family.  I do miss the sportiness of the Avenger, but man the upgraded luxuries sure are nice.. :)

I'll try to keep this in the back of my head. I have a baby due at the first of May, so I'm sure I'll be looking for a reason to take a drive. I have two buddies in the area too, one has a Sky Sykline & the other a Vette, maybe I can get them to get them out too.

Here's my stang still waiting to get the motor done.  Does anyone know a good place to get a 347 built I already have most of the parts.

or be put to sleep.... ;D J/K

I got nothing to say, my chevelle is literally a shell. No dog house, no engine / trans, no glass, no doors, no suspension, gravity is the only think holding the body to the frame.... Doubt I'll get to drive it this year :D

You looking for someone to assemble it? Or do you need the machine work done to the block? I may be able to help.

*drooling*

Let's turn this into the Mustang club...heh heh.

I'll help turn wrenches...it's been a while, but I think I've still got it in me.  As far as actual shops, I've heard good things about Kammer and Kammer Racing (I think is the name, I'll double check when I drive by tonight.)  I know Marty there...nice guy, knows his stuff.  Waite's Automotive is good for full restorations...but I don't know about their engine work.  Carl's downtown is supposed to be good for custom body work.  Sorry, I only know stuff in the Huber Heights area since I worked for Advance Auto.  If you need parts, talk to David Blair in the Advance on Brandt...awesome guy, knows his stuff.

Kammer and Kammer does good work,  a friend who is a mechanic for a local euro shop had them build up a 427 for a mazda miata..... dam that car is fast :)

I did know a guy who does stuff out of his house (he has a 9ish (I think) second camaro) who will do just about anything to a car.  I can try to get his info for you... he's in Huber & did the exhaust work on my Viggen, did a great job!!

this is what my old saab is built for

Heheh...I know exactly who you're talking about.  His name is Bill...and lives right down the street from me (and was one of my regulars at Advance.)  Good guy, he's done a lot of work for me.  He specializes in exhaust, turbos, and rollcages, but he's good with just about everything.  He has a few sub-10s cars...he has a website out with clips of his cars racing.  Niiiice.  I can't remember for the life of me his last name or racing company...blah.  Sorry.

Yes, I will be out there with my girl, and maybe I can even convince Nikki to come too.

So this is why most people don't let their significant others on here, huh?

I'm not sure what happend to the pics of my Stang. here are a few I found. My 69 & 01. I sold the 69 to help fund the Viper. I have since added a Style Bar to the 01. I have abour 16,000 miles on it. All pretty much highway miles.
