skimmer question

hey, i have a ASM g2 with the stock sedra 3500 pump. my pump does not seem to be working as well as it did. it may just need a good vinegar soak and scrub but i wouldnt mind having a back up. i have been reading on rc and some say any other pump with more gph will not make it skim any better ??? so maybe i just need the same one. wondering what everyone here thinks. thanks.

Contact time is very important from what I have read. I'm useing a 400GPH pump on my skimmer, and you should see the crap it pulls out.

yeah the sedra 3500 is 350, whats the size of the out put 3/4? is it needle wheel or other?

Mine is a recirulating skimmer. So my pump is just a normal impeller, 3/4". The recirc pump is a needle wheel. I'm telling you man, you gotta see this thing lol. I'll post some pics in the equipment section later.
