Could one of the admins take a look and rename this thread?

Great info is being posted that could use a better heading now that it has expanded

I think it is great BTW. I am getting info on how to design and build a HOB refugium for my 26g so this has been great

Ken, I agree, This thread needs a more descriptive title. 'Local Acrylic Supplies' or something of the sort. If I can sneak out of work early today I want to see their store.

Please do a build thread on that, I'd love to see it come to life.

Andy, I was looking at acrylic sheets here:

http://www.estreetplastics.com/Plexiglass_Sheets_Clear_s/21.htm

Let me know if you want to do a order with me, they have a good discount for 10 or more sheets. I can get it shipped to my work (or yours it seems) for cheaper shipping.

If anyone else wants in, feel free to speak up!

there weldon is cheaper than anyone else local. There acrylic is somewhat higher but they are the easiest to deal with. You can walk in and place your order. Most others make you call in your order.

Do they cut it for you at Meyers?

JD did you check Lowes? They have 1/4" Acrylic. They will cut it aswell, but I would double, wait scratch that, triple check the cuts. I built a sump with their fine cuts once. Lets say it didn't work out well.

Lowe's doesn't sell cell cast acrylic. They sell extruded. Yes they will cut it for you. I don't remember if they charge or not though.

Last I heard the cuts for acrylic are $.25 each. They cut glass free.

I know that to order weld-on it costs you and arm and a leg. There is some special permit you have to get (last I remember) I may order the acrylic online and get the weld-on there as well as a few test pieces.
