Sticky Threads
« on: February 08, 2010, 12:14:03 »
One of the things that always impressed me on my old forum up in Michigan were the sticky threads that were placed in each particular section of the forum, written as an article by someone in the forum outlining the basics of everything one should or might want to know about that particular common topic (i.e. ich, cycling, personal safety re: electricity and co2, what to do in a power outage (alongside the emergency contact list)), locked, and posted as a sticky thread in the relevant section. I think it would be fun to gather a few volunteers, pick a few REALLY common topics that could be covered, and do some write ups. In a few cases, we could probably replace an existing sticky thread with just a really straightforward article!

Some of the other REALLY good topics were

-Things to consider before buying a tank
-Acclimating new livestock
-Aiptasia (always with the Aiptasia!)

Sounds like you just volunteered to head that up
75G Mixed Reef w/ 30G sump/refuge

Electrical Engineers do it on impulse, with faster rise times, with more power, and less resistance at higher frequencies, without shorts, until it Hertz

I like this idea. Maybe we can get a forum added where info can be compiled by volunteers then it can be added to the regular forum.

I'll see if I can stir up some volunteers at the next meeting. In the meantime I'll pick one of the topics and see if I can't do a keen demo article!

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."   < K >
