Title: 12gal Nanocube reef build
Post by: jeremy on May 11, 2011, 16:14:03
This is my 12 day old (rock/sand added 4/29/2011) JBJ12.  Equipment currently consists of....

OG JBJ12 w/ DIY LED retrofit
MaxJet 900 return w/ Flo
Hydor Pico 600 w/ Flo
Hydor Theo 50w heater
Generic titanium grounding plug

14lbs Premium Aquatics "Nano" live rock (cured, shipped ground - 1 day zone)
~5lbs Southdown sand
5lbs Premium Aquatics Live sand

I ended up with about 2x more live rock then I was expecting. The pieces were very light. Not much life on them that I could see except for one rock completely covered in Porites.  I've seen a few pods and a couple feather/tube worms, but not much else, yet.  I'll may end up removing 1/3 to 1/2 the rock, but I figured it can't hurt to let it cycle.  Diatoms showed up on May 6 (1 week in) and seem to be on their way out now (May 11).

More as it happens...

Very nice little setup. Really liking the aqua-scape.

Good to hear your taking it slow :)
