Good evening all. I haven’t really had time to sit down and create this thread, but here it goes. This is my 150 Gallon mixed reef build. I got this tank after purchasing our new house back in May. the tank has cycled and been up and running for a few months. Everything is stable, and I have begun slowly adding my livestock. Here are a few notes I have for the tank.
1.) currently running 3 ocean revives (thanks Lazy)
2.) tank has gone through an ugly phase, but thanks to saltybottomreefcompany.com, the cleanup crew I ordered DESTROYED the algae.
3.)livestock (outside of snails and hermits)
A.) current - 5 green chromis, 1 6 line wrasse, tuxedo urchin, two brittle starfish, and two short spine urchins.
We are slowly starting to want to add coral and color to really help our tank pop.

Coming along nicely

Looks nice! Are you looking to stock any particular type of coral?

Honestly, nothing in particular, will just vary on what we get I guess. I know for sure down the road would love to add a little GSP, hammer, and candy cane. Outside of that, not really sure

all right!!

Does anyone have any suggestions for corals that are colorful and will look good in this tank?
-
It depends on what type of coral you’re shooting for. Softies, LPS, SPS,Etc?
-
Personally, the goal is eventually a mixed reef. Most likely going to start with softies and LPS and easy sps

For Veterans Day, the kiddos decided they were going to help me clean the tank. All three of the kiddos absolutely adore the tank, and love helping me out with it.
A little update since our last, we added a pair of small maroon clownfish, and then on our way home with those, we stopped at the petsmart near our house. They were selling a pair of black snowflake clownfish for cheap, so we took the chance and added them in with our chromis and 6 line wrasse. About a week and a half later and everyone seems to be getting along nicely, and all of the actually swim as a school at times.
The next step for us is to start adding some corals and the kids are most excited for that part. Pictures of the fish and entire tank will be uploaded within the next few days!

Just a short update on the tank. Everything is going great and looking happy. Fish are healthy, and my cleanup crew takes care of the algae about as quickly as it comes in. Was planning to add some corals and color, but as it always seems to go, something else comes up that is forcing us to hold off temporarily. I did put some corals from my smaller tanks in there, and everting is looking great and happy!

Thanks. I make my wife take all the pictures. Mine always end up blurry and don’t look right, and she looks like a pro sometimes

I need to try to remember an app I used to have that helped tremendously when taking photos. Allowed you to adjust white balance among other settings.

Check out Aquarium Cam app.

Here is what you need to take good pics and video

Just figured I would give some updates on my tank. Currently the few corals I have are thriving and doing well. I do currently have some ick issues from putting fish in my tank against my better judgement. Have been using poly lab medic for about 4 or 5 days and it is working excellently! Here is to hoping soon I’ll be adding some more color and continuing to have some success

Sorry to here about the rich. I know several people who have used the polyp lab medic with good success. Rock work looks good, love the starting stage and watching everything grow.

And I wonder why I can’t ever get good pictures of my tank. My fish like to photo bomb them!!
