Title: Kalkwasser
Post by: ohioreef on March 21, 2021, 12:22:36
Went to Kroger today to pick up some pickling lime, but they don’t carry it. Instead they have concentrated calcium chloride. (See pics below)

Am I able to use that?

That’s not going to work. This is what you need

I discovered that after I got home and found that pickling lime is calcium hydroxide not calcium chloride. I was really hoping to find pickling lime as it’s a lot cheaper than “kalwasser” even though it’s the same stuff. I guess when you label it for aquarium use the price goes up. LOL

Could probably use the stuff I found today for part two of Randy Holmes-Farley’s two part recipe, if I remember right.
