It has been 5 years since I took down my display tank and I have the itch for another one. Top down viewing of corals is nice from the frag tanks but miss seeing the front facing perspective of a reef.
Through a partnership with Aquatics Galore (https://aquaticsgalore.com/) and Pro Clear Aquatics (https://www.pro-clear.com/) I was able to acquire the new Rimless Pro-Star 230
The tank itself is a 180
72” Long
26” Wide
24” Tall
The glass is a whopping 3/4” thick! Boy is it heavy.
The stand is a really sharp piano white finish. The entire front is doors that are made from glass. It has an aluminum frame that is enforced with marine grade plywood. It sits 1” off the floor with it’s leveling feet which is really nice in case of any water spillage it can be cleaned up.
I have a few items to do before I can get running but shouldn’t take to long.
In Progress - 2, 15amp 14/2 runs to electrical box and install GFCI breakers
In Progress - Run RO line from RO/DI unit to sump
Future Tasks
Small modification to overflow box
Remove tank, level stand and reinstall tank
Build rock structure
Install equipment and plumbing
Fill tank and cycle
Build custom auto top off

Looks fantastic Brian! Can’t wait to see the updates.

Awesome!! Be fun to watch your progress.
Any thoughts on where you’ll get your corals from?
-
I was always inspired by your 125 set up, any ideas on what type of corals you will be going with? Mixed, SPS?
-
I love the Pro Clear systems. This is going to be awesome. Looking forward to updates.

Following along. Look forward to seeing this build.

'Bout time. Anxious to follow the build. Hopefully we'll all be able to get together soon to see it.

Thank you all. I hope to share some updates soon. I was going to work on it this weekend but family member wants a fence installed so will be doing that instead. Depending how that goes I may get a bit of time to finish up electrical and ro run.
I could use some help taking the tank off the stand so I can level it and then setting it back up on the stand. Jeff and I tried the other day but it is way 2 heavy for 2 people even with suction cups. If you live close and are available some time let me know. I think it will take about 30 minutes.

Brian,
