Tank repair
« on: November 07, 2006, 15:04:13 »
I just aquired a used 90 gallon tank and the bottom trim panel cracked and fell off is there any way to replace this or can I just simply use epoxy to put it back on? Is it even needed?

Thanks

Eric

You should put it back on. that helps support the tank. I cleaned my 55 real good and used silicone to put it back on. try to get it as clean as you can. I never had a problem with it comming back off after i put it back on.

after doing much research on the web, found a place that sells the trim/frame for tanks.

You might confirm that glass cages is selling the type of frame you are looking for.  I've seen GC tanks before and their "trim" is just a black L shaped piece of plastic they cut, bend around the corners, and silicone on.  Not at all like a rigid one piece AGA trim that would actually ship as a 48" x 18" piece.

I'll check into that and see what they have to say as far as what kind of trim/frame it is. and I would rather buy from a local shop than internet anyway.
