« on: November 28, 2006, 21:21:24 »
I purchased the tiger shart or whatever that huge magnet is to clean my tank.  Holy ..... is that thing STRONG!!!  There are numerous warning about pinching fingers if not used properly.

Anyways, the instructions state use acrylic wax.  Anyone know where I can get some?   I foget if there are any acrylic shops here in town

fwiw i have not used any wax on my tank (acrylic).  the only problem was my own fault.  i caught a piece of sand in the magnet an scratched the inside of the tank.

My tank is made of Arcylite AR so scratching shouldn't be a issue.  SUpposidley the AR is tougher then plate glass but who knows!

My hope was it would make using the magnet easier so it slides on the outside of the tank easier.

probably make it easier to clean to :)

it actually does have a nice big scratch in it :(  It was being shipped to whoever purchased it & when they were crating up the tank a screw made a mark on the side.  It doesn't affect strength & allowed me to but if for pretty cheap :)

The thalasoma or whatever it's called wrasse was freaking out lest night because he wanted more food.  Fortunantly he didn't scratch it
