Water Storage Container
« on: January 09, 2021, 21:48:50 »
I am looking for a storage container for my RO/DI. The footprint can be no bigger than 12”x16” and a max of 36” tall.

Menards has a trash can that is perfect, but doesn’t have a lid.

Any ideas where to find what I’m looking for would be appreciated.

if the menards can is perfect why not fabricate a lid?

That’s kinda where I’m leaning. I’m not real good with fabricating, LOL.

there is moldable plastic, there are ways to bend plexiglas, the simplest lid would be a sheet of clear plastic just wider than the can with plastic screws through just outside of the dimensions of the can to keep the lid from sliding off or a hot glue bead on the lower side of the lid just inside the rim of the can that would also cause condensation to drip back into the can instead of wicking out to drip on the floor.

Great ideas!! Thanks!! I was leaning toward a piece of plexiglass or acrylic. The hot glue idea is a good idea.

Somewhere up 75 on the west side is U.S. Plastics. if they sold seconds at that facility it might be worth a trip. I dealt with them professionally and they have a line of tanks. containers and stock plastic. I looked it up. it is in Lima, they sell on-line but you can pick up stuff there.  they have a clearance section on their site, otherwise kind of pricey.

I was checking out US Plastics, but as you mentioned, kind of pricey for a hobbyist.
