Sure thing, Justin!

Hey Tim it shows as me editing your original post at 1:28pm but in actuality I linked the post to the Calendar. I have been manually adding each of the meetings to the Calendar for the last year but no longer have to with this feature that has always been there

I read the entire thread linked in one of the forums pertaining to Anthony's advice on implementing DSBs. He seems like a well rounded, well informed expert.

cool thanx for the info

Her is a copy of the official post at Cincyreef.
The January meeting will be held on Thursday, January 14th. The location will be The Underground (where we held the frag swap). The meeting will start @ 6:30. This meeting will be held a little differently. We will have Anthony Clafo as our guest speaker. He is the author of many articles, Publisher of the C the Jurnal, and multiple books on reef keeping related topics. He will give a talk on breeding fish and will be taking questions from the audience. He will have some of his publications available for sale after the talk. Pizza and refreshments will be free. The club will be giving back to its members with a raffle where everyone will come home with at least one thing. This year, there will be over 75 SPS, LPS, and Softies frags to choose from and two LARGE coral colonies given away to paid members. There will also be Over $400 worth of dry goods given away to paid members as well. You will be able to pick which kind of coral you want. The meeting is free to everyone. However you do have to be a paid member to get free raffle tickets. You do not want to miss this meeting!!!
If you have never come to a meeting this is the one you do not want to miss! Our club is growing and we would like you to be a part of it. This meeting alone will easily be worth the $20 membership fee. This is going to be an exciting year with many planned events such as Club trips/Powerbuys and the the behind the scenes tour of the Newport Aquarium. Come see what is new with the Cincyreef.
We will be accepting dues at this meeting. You will be eligible for the raffle if you pay that night. If you would like to pay them please bring cash or check with you. $20 is the amount, and this will allow you to be in the raffle. Remember, these raffles are for paid members only. If you would like to become a member, but have questions, don't hesitate to ask one of the board members. We will gladly help you out! Hope to see everyone there for the kick-off of another great year for the Cincinnati Reefkeepers.

I live north of Tipp, but I work in downtown Cincinnati. I am a paid member of both Ohio Reef and CincyReef. I consider the fees I paid for both clubs well worth it. I've met with Verper (Ohio Reef president) and Kgerberus (CincyReef president) a few times but I have never actually made it to either clubs monthly meetings. The wealth of knowledge on both sites are incredible. Well worth being a member of both...as with all my posts...just my 2 cents.

Yeah, don't mind HUNGER's sense of humor.
This year I am planning to join Cincy, CORA, and of course, stay at home here with Ohio Reef. I think we all can learn from different clubs, different sponsors, and they all have a wealth of knowledge.
Anyone up for carpooling down to Cincy?

I really want to go but have class till 7 that night, we will see if i cant figure something out
-
well it just so happens that this falls on my birth day, and while i would love to attend , my girlfriend will probably flip when i tell her i want to spend my b-day at this function , however it is my birthday and she is not the last girl on earth, will have to see how this pans out.
Too Funny!!! :)

Is it necessary to get tickets ahead of time or can we just buy them at the door?
-
This is hosted by Cincinnati Reef so may want to post your question there. http://www.cincyreef.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15617 (http://www.cincyreef.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15617)

What a great speaker! Entertaining & a load of information. I'm so glad I went! Who knew puffers had been aquarium bread already? Wow, puffers that have never had worms! (You should always deworm puffers, they usually have worms)

i wonder how much it cost for a speaker to talk like that cant be cheap
Not sure, but I'd bet it was over $1000. And he made the comment that he'd done hundreds of speeches..... I want to be able to make that kind of money talking about fish
-
so would i id talk about what ever for that
-
Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting. It was our most attended meeting yet! We had almost 100 people in attendance. Anthony Calfo gave a great talk on breeding fish! I believe everyone who got a raffle tickets walked away with at least one raffle prize. This is a great start to the new year!
