Pulled the trigger- my new 120
« on: May 16, 2012, 23:25:23 »
Well, moving on from the 54 corner. Moving into a 120 that I picked up.
It'll be a couple of months but here are some shots of it.

It is residing on the back porch until the living room gets redone per the wife!  :alas:

Tank is an AGA 120 with dual overflows that I picked up used.

The oak stand was made by a cabinet maker.

The acrylic sump was built by an acrylic genius.

That is a sweet stand. The sump looks like it has never seen water yet.

That is a sweet stand. The sump looks like it has never seen water yet.

It's brand new. I had it built to my specs. I wanted as big a sump as possible. It's a 2 piece unit that is setup with the return section in the center. I will upload a pic and explain it.

Here is a better look at the sump in it's correct orientation. It's all 1/2" acrylic and it's a beast.

From left to right:
Skimmer section, return section, fuge section

The total inside dimensions of the return and skimmer sections are 28" x 17" x 10" high baffles. Total of 20.2 gallons before equipment
The total inside dimensions of the fuge section are  9" x 17" x 16" high to the middle of the overflows. Total of 4.4 gallons before liverock and DSB.

Total estimated water will be 24.6 gallons before equipment, liverock and sand.
