I just bought my first Acan Lord coral, and I am so in love! I've been looking at it for months at the store, and finally brought it home last night. It has about 6-7 polyps and fluoresces neon green amazingly!
Almost as soon as it was placed in my tank, it opened up and extended it's feeder tentacles. I cut a bottle top and covered it once the lights were out, and fed it a mixture of frozen chopped mysis, plankton, and muscle. It was just too cool to watch it pull the food that fell up off the sand bed.
I've read reports that with regular feedings they can add one to two polyps per month...I have the frag positioned away from all other corals, on the bottom of the tank against the rock I hope it will grow onto. Does target feeding 3-4 times per week sound about right?
