Title: Free Emergency RODI Fresh Water
Post by: Boonjob on July 25, 2011, 12:16:14
I ran into this problem myself, and I have also spoke with a few members who also have run into the same problem.

I am offering my RODI Water/filter to any member who finds themselves in a situation where they are in need of emergency waterchange but do not have the resources nor time to wait. I on average keep around 50gallons of fresh RO/DI water and can also make some up if you need more. I always have salt on hand if you are also out at the time; all I ask on the salt is that you replenish what you use(I usually have one or the other(sometimes both) reefcrystals and SCRS)

I am in the West Carrolton Area.

I am offering this service as I found myself a few weeks ago in a situation where I could not even make my own water but my tank needed a change bad, aswell as I had depeleted my top off water and my pump was very close to runnning dry. It isn't much but hopefully I can help someone else avoid a situation similar to this.

I don't typically keep it made up and ready, but if I do have it I'm more than willing to share as well.  For those of you that keep is made up and ready, how long do you usually keep it and how do you keep it from getting yuky?

I will try and make a spread sheet so a mod can sticky this as well as maybe add this to the list of club equipment. Anyone else keep water ready?

Cody, if you sell your system will you still have water and salt available?

Though I still will have an RODI, I think it may be best to remove me from the list for the time being, as I wont be makeing water routinely... Sorry

My RODI is up and running now. I don't plan on keeping more than 30gal. at any given time. I am currently using RSCP, but I have about a quarter bucket left of IO.

I really appreciate it mike, I will keep you posted on if we need more depending on the outcome of tonights events... I have a decient ick outbreak and we needed to get all these guys in hypo before they start dieing. One of them is a 7-8" sailfin, absolutely amazing fish, he sadly had it the worst but he was in hypo for 2 hours before I left and he looked a lot better and was eating and swiming around.

Add me to the list.  Currently sitting on 20+ gallons of 0 tds, and still filling containers.  Should max out around 80 some gallons.  Slow and steady process to fill these things, lol.

I am in Arcanum (near Greenville) and almost always have the following:

100 gallons RO @ 0 TDS
30 - 50 gallons saltwater @ 1.024 (reef crystals)
Enough tanks to have another 100+ gallons made up within a day.
My RO makes about 120+ gpd with the booster pump

If anyone needs any, I have a 60 gallon tank that can be borrowed and enough hose to pump it into the garage (assuming the pump can get it there from the basement)

Mi agua es su agua.
