Can anyone help me fix my custom made LEDs?
« on: April 28, 2013, 17:43:54 »
The wiring is a mess and I need help to make them work.  I am clueless as to how to re-wire it and don't want to fry the entire system.

Thanks,

Tom

I'd be happy to take a look at it but I work nights. I'm no expert on electronics tho. I'm an electrician but never really had much exposure to it.

My first question is who made them? Custom made is a broad term. You could just have a burnt wire or loose solder in the line. Sometimes if not wired correctly you could smoke the line altogether. I've read about this and they do make a battery operated tester used to check them without frying them.

A guy on cincyreef made them.  He hasn't returned my Pms.   I really need them re-wired and fixed badly.

Well, Chris Brenner is having me drop them off & 5 tomorrow.  So I appreciate the help.  If he can't figure it out, then I will seek guidance from you others here.

If you need help let me know. I'm fairly good with wiring/electronics. Send me a picture to let me see what you're working with if you want.

Wish us Luck!  Cbenner and BlueWater have been working on the DIY LED.  They said it must have been an awesome light.  The problem is with the wiring.  It sounds like they were fried and shorted out a lot of stuff.  They said my dad was lucky his house didn't burn down.   :silence:
