bleaching
« on: August 31, 2013, 05:04:39 »
I have 4 colonies of polyps, that I have no idea what they are. They were green but have become almost white. I also have some star polyps that did the same. To much light?

The colony in the front is one of them I'm talking about.

Any ideas?

Could be your lights. Also could be alk, cal or mag. I get a little bleaching when any of the 3 get off whack.  Also stray voltage can affect corals.

calcium and alk are fine, actually a little above recommended. mag is probably low. need to do a water change.

I don't have a way to check for stray voltage unless I can use a Fluke meter. I've never attemped to use one of my meters for that tho.
