purple swirly thing

Anyone know what this stuff is popping up all over my rocks.  they have really long strings coming off of them to whitch you can't see in the picture. its starting to wrap around my tree.

i forget the name, its a worm that puts out a mucus string to catch food..

I think they can sting corals like hydroids, but theres really no way to get rid of them i guess  :)

I dont like em because if you move a tank with well established liverock, and just grab a piece of rock, it'll pop a bunch of holes in your hand

yeah, i also have a bristle worm somewhere in my tank so i always have to watch if i'm moving something.

i got a screw driver and popped  a bunch of them off today.  Its weird you can see them suck down the tube when you get close to them.
