Picked up a couple nice size pieces of green and red monti from Slandis3. Cut a few little pieces and mounted them to one plug. They seem to be getting along okay and growing nicely. Not sure how it will turn out because I think the red is plate style and the green is more bowl style? We shall see
I think the Frag was made on 9/18 but for sure pic taken 10/22.

This should be interesting!
-
thats going to look sweet
-
That's going to be awesome....I've always thought about doing it, but for some reason never have. Keep us posted with pics!!
-
I will get an update picture this weekend. It has grown pretty good the last three weeks.
-
I vaguely remember someone doing something similar to this on RC several years ago.
I can't remember the results though.
-
I have tried with red and purple. It seems that one always tends to grow faster and overtake the other killing it.
-
You have inspired me brian :) .... Off to the frag tank to make a few of these !!!
-
when i did that a year or so ago the red grew much faster than the green and over took it,
-
It looks like the green is already over growing the red section on the left of the pic, unless it's just the pic it looks like it is growing over the edge.
-
I am not sure which is quicker grower, Mike do you know? May have to keep trimming the dominant one back. Not sure if a long term piece is feasible due to that problem. Kenn post up your creations.
-
Sure be cool if you can pull it off, would love to see new pics
-
i have 2 that are starting to do it in my main tank so far its not to bad

Here is an updated picture. Looks like they have been fighting which has affected their growth significantly

Looks like green is winning.
-
Interesting to watch this. looking forward to watching more progress!
-
looks good hope they stop fighting
-
So Lazy... I mean Dr. Frankenstein - LOL!!!!!
-
That looks sweet! I would like to see what it looks like in several years if one does'nt overtake the other one.
-
This experiment hasn't been doing well. They seem to continually be fighting each other causing very slow growth. They sting, die back, grow then sting die back and do it all over again. The Red is starting to show signs of winning out. I don't think these two are compatible with each other. The red is a plate style growth pattern and green is bowl style.

That really stinks .. Are you going to try it again using different colors
